Answer # 35 Question Why does your site have uniform shipping rates ?

Uniform Shipping Rates

We attempted to combine the best of Amazon with the free for all nature of eBay. Amazon requires that all of their used book vendors have a uniform shipping policy.

eBay on the other hand has a free for all shipping policy. We drew the line in that we want each user to offer a uniform shipping policy, but we haven't restricted the accepted shipping rate for all users.

Overstock.com goes even further. They are a group of small merchants with varying inventory. They have everything from bedroom items to jewelry with one shipping rate. One feels comfortable shopping there and I thought it was one company until items I purchased were arriving from all over the country .

By determining what is working on the internet as it relates to shipping, we feel that we have the best of all related websites. If you are concerned about shipping rates, I would recommend offering an additional amount for a large item and maybe a smaller amount for less expensive items. In this way, you can than offer a uniform shipping rate for all of the books that you sell.

The price of shipping a book can by found by clicking on a particular book. Once the details come up, the shipping amount is located by clicking on shipping OR it will be displayed there for a single book.

Most sellers offer a discount on shipping for purchasing more than one book as all would like our buyers to purchase more than a single book from them. The shipping price will be displayed in your shopping cart after adding a book to the cart.

Uniform shipping rates apply to US customers only. We'll quote our Canadian and other countries based on the prevailing rates.
